The client

Meaning ‘to explore’ in Cantonese, Tánsuŏ serves as an exploration of contemporary Chinese cuisine reminiscent of China’s night markets and traditional street fare.

The problem

Morph Hospitality was gearing up the launch of their new Chinese concept, Tansuo. They required a new marketing site which would allow access to their menu, news articles, location, and an integration with Open Table to handle table bookings.

They provided me with a branding guide, samples of interior decor elements, and food photography. The site needed to match the look and feel of the restaurant, while it and the website were being built simultaneously.

The solution

We decided on a custom theme WordPress build. This platform was already familiar to the clients, and it offered all of the required features with minimal custom backend development. The design focus was built around a "mobile first" philosophy, being that people are using their phones to find a restaurant and book a table these days. Quick loading, scalable design across a wide range of devices was the ultimate goal here.
